Understanding SDA Eligibility.
Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) funding is available through the NDIS for people who meet eligibility criteria. Eligibility is determined by the NDIS as a part of the participant's plan. If you are exploring SDA options for yourself or a family member, we recommend speaking with your support coordinator, NDIS planner or Allied Health team to discuss whether SDA may be appropriate for your circumstances. Once SDA funding has been approved, our team can help guide you through available housing options and finding the right home environment to suit your needs.

SDA for NDIS clients.
We work alongside Support Coordinators, Occupational Therapists, and Support Workers to help NDIS participants find the right housing specific to their individual needs and circumstances.
And it's not just housing. Our many years of industry experience have developed an approach that allows us to carefully match individual tenants in order to create the best living environments.
Navigating SDA can be complex. That’s why we’ve built an expert in-house team who are here to support you every step of the way.
SDA for Support Co-ordinators and Providers.
Alliance Access Homes believe that providing the most appropriate homes for NDIS participants requires careful collaboration. That’s why we work closely with like-minded Supported Independent Living (SIL) Co-ordinators and Providers to ensure our residents receive high-quality, tailored solutions suited to their individual needs.
Our role is to ease the burden in finding the right housing that meets the needs of participants, allowing SIL co-ordinators and providers to do what they do best - help people live happily, independently and efficiently.
Follow these simple steps to plan your SDA transition.
Navigating Specialist Disability Accommodation can feel overwhelming at first, especially when planning long-term living arrangements for yourself or a loved one. These simple steps are designed to help make the SDA journey feel clearer, more manageable and better supported from the very beginning.
Understand your needs.
Finding the right Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) starts with understanding what is important to you - not just today, but into the future as well.
Everyone’s support needs, lifestyle preferences and goals are different. The first step is about identifying the type of home, support and living environment that will help you feel safe, comfortable, independent and connected.
This may include considering:
-
The level of daily support you require
-
Physical accessibility needs within the home
-
Sensory or cognitive considerations that may impact your environment
-
Whether you would prefer to live independently or with others
-
Your routines, lifestyle and social preferences
-
Long-term goals for independence, wellbeing and quality of life
During this stage, we work closely with you, your family, support coordinator and allied health team to better understand what type of SDA home may best suit your needs and funding pathway.
The more we understand about you, the better we can help match you with the right home and support environment.
